The outer layers of your skin shed regularly and dead skin cells are removed. However, not all of the cells are removed every time the skin sheds. This leads the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum. The bacteria in the blocked pores can eventually cause inflammation and serious infections. You can pop it, but that would leave a permanent mark on your skin. Therefore, we will first discuss some lifestyle changes that you need to make to minimize the chances of pimples appearing on your skin.

1. Balanced Diet and Water

I really can’t state the importance of eating a balanced diet and consuming adequate amounts of water. People who eat a lot of junk food often suffer from serious pimple and acne breakouts. Your diet should contain ample amounts of zinc, vitamin A, E, and magnesium. Make a nutritional chart that contains foods which are rich in these vitamins. This can also help you recover after an acne breakout. For instance, retinol is a great choice due to the fact that it contains a significant amount of Vitamin A. If you consume a lot of caffeine, you might want to stop now. Instead, you can switch to green tea, as that actually offers hydrating benefits.

 

 

2. Do Not Squeeze the Pimple

So many people I know make this common mistake. Never squeeze or pop the pimple the wrong way, because it will just exacerbate the problem. So, the question is, can you find a way to minimize the chances of pimples appearing on your face? Well, of course! Here are some simple ways to minimize the chances of pimples and acne outbreaks on your face.

1. Avoid Using Lip Gloss Products

One of the first things that you need to do is to avoid using lip gloss. Lip balms and gloss products often contain a variety of ingredients that can actually increase the chances of acne and pimples around the lips. They contain a small amount of wax, which can cause a blockage in your pores. It won’t be long before bacteria and dirt will be trapped in the blocked pores, thus causing pimples. Furthermore, many lip gloss products have a specific fragrance. This enhances the production of sebum and we already know how that impacts pimples on your skin.

 

 

2. Wipe Your Mouth Carefully

You might be surprised to know that a simple measure such as wiping your mouth carefully after eating and drinking can actually have a huge impact on the frequency of pimples and acne outbreak. Residue left from the food or drinks you consume can become a feeding ground for bacteria. If there are any blocked pores around the lips, the bacteria might get trapped.

 

 

3. Avoid Using Toothpaste That Contains Fragrance and Flavor

The reasoning applied here is simple to lip balms and lip gloss. The chemical flavoring can cause your skin to react and increase the production of sebum in that region. There are several toothpastes that don’t contain any or less fragrance or flavoring. These include Biotene, Sensodyne, Burt’s Bees, and several others. 4. Brush Properly

When you brush your teeth with a fragrance free toothpaste, you should also brush on the lips. This will remove any residue or gunk that appears around the lips and prevent bacteria from accumulating near the lips.

 

 

5. Balanced Diet

I really can’t stress this point enough: if you want to minimize the chances of acne and pimples on your face, you need to consume a balanced diet. I have already mentioned the different vitamins that your skin requires to maintain a healthy glow. If you don’t provide your body with the required vitamins that it needs for proper health, your skin will lose its healthy glow. Furthermore, you need to drink an adequate amount of water on a daily basis. Almost 60% of your body is made of water. Consume at least 2 liters of water daily.
