Proactive Reviews: Proactiv Plus Solution Honest Review
Why Proactiv Acne Treatment is Terrible for Your Skin
You have heard about it, you’ve (probably) read about it, and it’s very likely that you have seen it on your television screen or the internet, but the question is, have you used it yourself? Proactiv Plus is probably one of the most extensively marketed products in the market right now. Literally everywhere I go, I see some sort of ad highlighting one of the many products in the company’s lineup.
With such an extensive marketing campaign, it’s easy to see why Proactiv has been selling so well over the past decade. Yes, I have to admit that it is the best-selling product available right now for acne treatment. However, does that mean that it’s the best product in the market for treating acne?
The marketing heads at Proactiv pay millions of dollars to celebrities to appear in ads and endorse their products. However, celebrity endorsement offers little when you get down to the cold, hard facts. You can’t expect that a product which has been endorsed by a celebrity is guaranteed to work. That is why, in this review, I am going to give an unbiased opinion about Proactiv Acne treatment solutions and whether or not there is any merit to the claims made by the company.
Proactiv Plus Solution- The Product & The Brand
Let’s be clear that Proactiv wasn’t the first brand that started offering acne treatment solutions. The company was created by a couple of dermatologists who were looking for a suitable way to fight acne. Thus, Proactiv Plus was born. Fast forward to the present, and the company has created somewhat of a monopoly in the industry. What started off as a simple infomercial has expanded into a global movement! In fact, you will find plenty of vending machines in local shopping malls that sell Proactiv Plus acne treatment products.
Like many other skincare products in the market, Proactiv uses benzoyl peroxide as its active ingredient. The company claims that it can kill 99% of the bacteria that causes acne in your skin. The Proactive Plus (Proactive Plus), which is the latest venture from the company, is actually a three-step system designed to provide revolutionary results. Most companies have minimized their concentration of benzoyl peroxide and only use 2%, which virtually makes it ineffective in fighting acne. However, compared to Exposed skin care, Proactiv still contains a higher amount of benzoyl peroxide, which is one of the main reasons why it’s a bit more effective than other treatment products right now.
The company also claims to use a patented delivery system which they refer to as the “Smart Target Technology.” In this system, the benzoyl peroxide is coated in a capsule which allows it to directly affect the pores with laser-like precision. However, despite all the fancy words used by the company and the different claims that it has made, does the Proactiv Plus treatment really work? Let’s find out.
Proactive (Proactiv + Acne Solution) Reviews – What People Have to Say
A cursory search online tells me that there’s a stark contrast between what people have to say about the product and what the company has been marketing online. Some people have said that they preferred using the original Proactiv but wanted to try what the Plus version had to offer. However, there was a common complaint amongst most people. They all claimed that the product was really great while they were applying it, but didn’t really provide any long-term benefits.
People complained that after they had applied the product, their skin was left feeling considerably dry. This was a huge worry, as dry skin can bring about an onset of wrinkles and can cause many other problems. Almost every person had the same opinion that the product didn’t actually do the job. Some people even claimed that their skin began to flake off due to the excessive dryness caused by the product.
Also, there’s a minor caveat that you need to be aware of when signing up for membership: they will charge $45 each month until you unsubscribe. If you purchased the product once and weren’t satisfied with the quality, you should immediately unsubscribe through their website. Many users were quick to dish out their ire on the company’s policies, stating that they had no right to charge their credit cards without their permission. In fact, one user even went so far as to say that they had packaged the whole thing and sent it back to the company in the hope of getting their refund back, but they hadn’t received it even after 4 months.
In the world of online marketing and shopping, word tends to spread very quickly. Such tactics are immediately thrown in the limelight. Therefore, it goes without saying that in terms of customer support and management, Proactiv doesn’t get a very high grade in my book.
Does Proactiv (Proactiv)Actually Work?
And now, let’s get down to the million-dollar question: does Proactiv really work? The official website has made it easy for first-time users by providing a list of different steps that you need to take to get the best possible results from the cream. Here they are.
Step One: Cleansing
According to the website, the first step is to cleanse your skin and get rid of any impurities. To do this, the website recommends that you use their Skin Smoothing Exfoliator. It says that the Skin Smoothing Exfoliator can help you get rid of excess dirt and oil that’s lodged in the skin and can also remove impurities every time you apply it on your skin.
The company recommends that you use this on a daily basis. For application, just put a small amount on your fingers and massage it in a circular motion. You will need to rinse it with warm water and then pat your skin dry after 2-3 minutes.
Step Two: Treatment
The second step is the most crucial one. It requires you to use the Pore Targeting Treatment as provided by the company. You need to apply a minimum of two pumps to clean the skin and then pat it dry. After applying it on your face, you can smooth it by rubbing it in a circular motion. Allow the cream to rest for at least five minutes before you rinse it dry.
Step Three: Repair
The final step is the repairing stage. You need to first apply the Complexion Perfecting Hydrator on the skin. It is designed to provide a soothing effect against irritation and brighten the tone of your skin. According to the company’s official website, the treatment helps get rid of acne without clogging your pores. Remember, do not rinse after applying the Complexion Perfecting Hydrator.
Proactiv also recommends that you use a sunscreen with protective powers of at least SPF 30 when you go outside. It’s important to note that there are several other products in the company’s official line, but these are the essentials that you need for targeting your acne infestations.
Should You Buy Proactive to get Rid of Your Acne & Acne Scars?
While the products contain all essential ingredients that you need to combat acne, such as benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid, there are certain other ingredients that have raised eyebrows from hawk-eyed users. For starters, why would a company that’s creating an acne cleanser use silicone in its products?
The addition of silicone is one of the main reasons why it gives you such a smooth feeling during application. Some might go so far as to say that this gives it a “fake” feeling when applying. Personally, I would prefer using a product that doesn’t contain silicone.
I think the company suffers from a classic case of overhyping a product. The marketing campaigns designed by Proactiv made it seem that it’s some revolutionary product that can get rid of your acne overnight . The reality, I’m afraid, is not that. Having used it myself, I can confirm that the product actually makes your skin quite dry, which ultimately causes irritation and reddening of the skin.
Does that mean that all of the other products available in the market are fake and based purely on hype? Certainly not! There are a host of other treatments and acne cleansers out there that provide far better results than Proactiv Plus did for me. For instance, let me tell you about this fascinating product called Exposed Skin Care. The company provides a line of different acne cleansing solutions, and I have to say, it actually works wonders. In fact, if you can’t find Exposed Skin Care products in the market, you can also check out Zenmed Derma Cleanse. Both have provided amazing results in the past for me, and I can easily say that they do a much better job than Proactiv. I would recommend these two over Proactiv.
